Eats New: Contemporary Flavors of Classic Big Mao

It seems like every week there's a new restaurant opening in Cebu. That's why we've come up with our new series called "Eats New" (a playful take on It's New :D).
Although it's fun to try out these new places, sometimes you just want to eat out at an old favorite - like Big Mao. Now, thanks to the re-launch of their new brand and introduction of new dishes, you can have the best of both old and new.

With shades of rustic brown and grey dominating over the signature red we have come to associate with Big Mao, the branch at Ayala Cebu Center looks like a completely new restaurant. But one where you can still enjoy classic favorites like Min Min Prawn Roulade (a personal favorite of ours!)

Serving their traditional Chinese cuisine since 2003, Creative Cuisine Gourmet Group (which Big Mao is part of along with classic restaurant Chika-an and new Cebu haunts Brique and Ettas) CEO John Alex Dytian shares that "It's the perfect time for change."
Along with the complete revamp of the restaurants interiors and their new logo, Big Mao has added over twenty new dishes on the menu. Our favorites are the Truffled Pork and Mushroom Noodles, Salted Duck Egg Squid, Crystal Shrimps with Broccoli, Honey Spare Ribs, Mixed Seafood Hot Pot with Bean Curd and Crab Meat Foo Yong.
