Buying Mooncake For The Season in Cebu : Delicious New Flavors from Tin Gow
September 21, 2017
It’s that time of the year again for the moon cake festival. The Mooncake festival is the second biggest festival after the Chinese New Year. Traditionally the “Mid-Autumn Festival”, it is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar year. It is also when the moon is at it roundest and brightest, thus it is popularly called and known as the “Mooncake Festival”.
Coming from a Chinese school, I always remember celebrating it with a dice game and was more than delighted when Tin Gow invited us over to play the game as well as to sample some mooncakes. As per tradition, Tin Gow at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino always offers these. They have a lot of exciting and also really unique flavors to offer.
Some New flavors which we took a fancy to: Ube with Tanduay (I mean who doesn’t love anything that has alcohol in it?), calamansi with honey, chocolate with cherry and coconut with sesame. They also have just regular chocolate, lotus with salted egg, Cebu mango, ube with salted egg, green tea with salted egg and red bean. They are Php250 each and you get one free if you buy 5 pieces!
