Hong Kong is probably one of the most traveled international destinations from the Philippines. So we don’t need to tell you to go up to Victoria Peak, enjoy the Hong Kong Island Harbor from Tsim Tsia Tsui, shop at Ladies Market and visit Ocean Park and Disneyland. But whether it’s your first or seventh time in HK, you will definitely go out to enjoy the cuisine. Here are our 7 suggestions after our extensive research/foodtrip from our recent visit:
1.) One Dimsum
15 Playing Field Road, Prince Edward
The line is worth it! Brave the crowded tables and try the baked pork buns, you won’t regret it
2.) Delicious Kitchen
20 Ashley Road, Tsim Tsia Tsui
It’s always a good sign when you walk in the middle of the afternoon and find the place filled with locals. After a walk around TST, a serving of their Pork Rib rice is the perfect reward.
3.) Yat Lok
34-38 Stanley St., Central
Two words: Roast Goose. Enough said.
4.) Law Fu Kee
50 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central
After walking around and shopping in Central, particularly on cold and rainy days, a nice bowl of congee at Law Fu Kee should be your next stop. One of the servers here is Filipina so you can ask her for recommendations!
5.) Tai Cheong Bakery
After slurping your congee at Law Fu Kee, go across the street to get some yummy egg tarts for dessert. There's also a branch at Victoria Peak if you want to munch on them while enjoying the view!
6.) Yan Wo Soy Bean Shop
Jardine’s Bazaar Street, Causeway Bay
If a store only sells tofu then they must do it right. And do they ever. Their “taho” or soya bean jell-o is so silky smooth and delicious on it’s own, you don’t even need to add sugar or syrup! Their hot soya bean milk is the freshest soy milk you’ll probably order in a restaurant. The storefront sign is in Chinese characters though but just take the F1 exit at Causeway Bay and take the road on the left side of the Forever 21 store and take a screenshot of this photo so you won’t miss it.
7.) Social Place
139 Queen’s Road Central, Central
If you’re up for a little fancy dimsum, check out this chic resto on the 2nd floor of the L Place. Their mushroom buns which I thought was a real mushroom when served and their rose-shaped mung bean buns look to pretty to eat but are so delicious you just have to. After taking a quick photo of it of course!
